Designed around our very own centre and supported by our trained staff, the 8, 12 or 16-week plans include Stronghold peak membership.

Stronghold Training Plan

How The Plan Works

Stronghold are collaborating with Neil Gresham to deliver a unique training product which combines Neil’s training experience, the comprehensive bouldering facilities at Stronghold and the support of Stronghold’s coaches.

You will need to decide if you want to follow a 8, 12 or 16 week training plan.

– Stage 1 – 

Assessment – Stronghold’s coaches will do a 1 hour assessment with you to assess what level you are at, what your strengths and weaknesses are and to understand what you want to achieve from your training plan. You book the time slot you require for the assessment when making the payment for the training package.

– Stage 2 –

Training Plan – Neil Gresham will use the information collected during the assessment to write you a bespoke training plan.

– Stage 3 –

Coaching Support – For the duration of the training plan, every week you will be able to book onto a 1:1 half hour session with a Stronghold coach. Here you can ask any questions about the plan and the coaches will ensure you are following the plan correctly and assist in the proper implemetaion of the exercises. These sessions are included in the price of the plan.

– Stage 4 –

Plan Completion – Either climb your goals or move onto the next level of training programs.

 

Neil Gresham is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading climbing coaches. He has been coaching and writing regular training articles for national magazines since 1993 and has pioneered many of the methods that are used widely by coaches today. Neil is the current training columnist for Climb magazine in the UK and Rock & Ice in the USA. He has delivered coaching courses and seminars all over the world and has helped hundreds of climbers of all ages and ability levels to raise their game. When coaching, he draws heavily on his vast bank of climbing experience, having put up hard new routes in a variety of styles in over fifteen different countries. He has climbed E10 trad, WI 7 on ice and in 2016 he climbed his first 8c+ at the age of 45 when he made the first ascent of Sabotage 8c+ at Malham Cove. Neil puts all his successes down to hard work, motivation and refinement of his game. He believes that work and family commitments don’t need to limit our climbing goals provided we are focused and make the best possible use of our training time.
