What changes have we made to encourage social distancing at Stronghold?’
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic we are mandating the use of face masks in all parts of the centre. This includes reception, changing areas, toilets and on the climbing mats. We aren’t insisting on the use of masks whilst actually climbing this will be left to the climbers discretion. However they must be replaced as soon as the climber is back on the ground. This guidance is constantly under review and may change as the guidance evolves.
When you first arrive at the centre you will notice a few changes from your last visit. First, we have introduced a new one-way system throughout the reception and changing areas. This will be clearly mapped out by signage to help you navigate the different areas in the centre.
We have also installed touch-free hand sanitising dispensers around the centre in key areas. There will also be signage reminding everyone to practice good hygiene and to wash hands regularly.
Max Capacity and Booking to Climb
In line with government guidance we will limit the number of customers we can have in the centre at one time. To do this we have introduced an online booking system with 2-hour slots, as well as a check in/check out system to monitor capacity. You can still drop in to climb but you will only be allowed in if there is capacity. You can check the live capacity numbers by downloading the RGP Connect App and setting up an account with us.
There will also be signage in each of our sub-areas to inform customers of the max number per area.
Throughout the centre there will be posters encouraging climbers to maintain social distancing at all times.
Staff and Centre Cleaning
We will have Perspex screens at the front and exit desks for staff and customer protection. We have an hourly cleaning schedule in place and will be closing for a short period in the middle of the day to deep clean the entire centre.
